Today I have launched my campaign for the East Midlands Liberal Democrats European Parliamentary list for the 2014 elections.
With the increasing levels of euro-scepticism, it is important for the Liberal Democrat Party that the East Midlands Region fights a stellar campaign to maintain our seat in the European Parliament. It is equally imperative that we begin to strengthen and rebuild our presence both at local council and at Parliamentary levels.
The current economic and political climate is such, that as a party, we have to overcome a less than supportive media to strive even harder to get our positive messages across to the electorate. Success in the 2014 Euro Elections will require strong leadership, high levels of energy and a special set of skills and experiences. We need to embrace new ways of working and reaching out to all communities across the region. I believe I have what it takes to develop, fund, motivate and lead an exciting East Midlands European Campaign Team towards success.
It is for this reason that I have decided to come forward and campaign to be considered for the East Midlands Euro-list.
My team and I would be very grateful for any support members can give…a first preference vote on the ballot paper would be most welcome!
